Homestuck: Dead, from Jinmod’s dream bubble!
I know, I know. I really shouldn’t be here, and between this and that post on The Fan Augur, I could be toeing a slippery slope. Still, in light of the impending April 13th, I wanted to share some Hussie cards. The title’s a bit of a misnomer, since Homestuck isn’t even the focus. The focus is weapon/object duality. Why? Because Chalice of Life shouldn’t be the only transforming card that doesn’t ever become a creature.

Mun makes a Set
((I’ve been thinking about the flavor basis for my set, and somehow or other, Greek mythology kept popping in my head. Greek mythology is cool, but that means I’ll have to make sure the cards make sense both mechanics-wise and flavor-wise, Which means Trauma Angel and some of the cards made by http://Jinmodscardfactory.tumblr.com/ will be getting a little make-over in terms of things like name and creature type.
Mechanically, the set is a Wedge colors set, and so far I’ve been having some fun creating cards for it. However, that doesn’t mean its easy. Far from it.
So… any ideas for the set?))
Your main problem is that you’re approaching the set from two directions at once, and neither works particularly well with the other. You have a clear creative direction (Greek mythology) and a clear mechanical direction (wedges), but no way of getting the two to work together. I would recommend dropping one and focusing on the other, either using the Greco-Roman mythos to establish a top-down world design or building a setting that offers a reason for color wedges. Trying to both at the same time is going to be an exercise in frustration.

The Iron Throne: Indestructible isn’t a keyword, so you’ll need to say “The Iron Throne is indestructible.” You use “equip” where you mean to use “attach” and “highest” when you want “greatest”. Equipment flavor doesn’t really work for something you sit on rather than wield. And do I really need to explain why an Equipment with no means of reattachment in a two-player game is a bad idea?
The Wall: Human and Soldier should both be capitalized. Lands without mana abilities simply aren’t done anymore, especially not when they act as free tribal Ghostly Prisons. I recommend making this a white legendary snow enchantment.
Kingslayer’s Stroke: Strictly worse than Hero’s Demise.

Like many of you (maybe), during and after Alara Block, I thought about the characteristics of plane shards based on wedges of colors rather than arcs. (That is, a color and its enemies rather than a color and its allies.) Being me, I made some cards based on my conclusions, including cycles of mythic fatties and Ultimata

I felt it was about time to honor the first Tumblr planestrotter (to my knowledge) with a card. Bearing in mind trends both general (friendship) and specific (food and sex), I feel this is an accurate depiction of her:

Planeswalker — Taffy
+1: Put a green 2/2 Pony creature token onto the battlefield.
-2: Tap any number of Pony, Pegasus, and/or Unicorn creatures you control. Put half that many green 2/2 Pony creature tokens, rounded down, onto the battlefield.
-8: Target opponent becomes your teammate for the rest of the game. (You and that player can’t attack each other or planeswalkers the other controls. If all other players have left the game or if either of you would win, you both win. If this is a two-player game, it ends in a draw.)
